Meet & Greets

We hold Meet and Greets at local pet stores. These events are an opportunity for you to see what great pets Greyhounds make. We usually have at least a few dogs (usually ten or more) for you to pet and plenty of volunteers to answer any questions you may have. These dogs have already been placed in permanent homes.

Annual Picnic

We hold an annual picnic in September at Carderock, Maryland. The picnic features many activities, including contests for the dogs, raffles, a silent auction, and vendors.

Playgroup

A Playgroup for Greyhounds is held approximately every three weeks at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, Virginia.

Anyone interested in adopting a greyhound is always welcome to visit. We suggest that you come to a meet and greet first so you can see how quiet these dogs are the other 99% of the time.

Greyhounds Reach the Beach

This annual event in Dewey Beach, Delaware is the largest gathering of retired racing greyhounds in the U.S. This isn't a Greyhound Rescue, Inc. event (its sponsored by The Greyhound Project), but because we're so close, we always have huge numbers of our dogs there. Held every year over Columbus Day weekend, this event attracted over 2000 greyhounds and over 1700 humans! More information about Greyhounds Reach the Beach!
